One of America's most read and celebrated authors, Anne Rice is known for weaving the visible and supernatural worlds together in epic stories that both entertain and challenge readers. Her books are rich tapestries of history, belief, philosophy, religion, and compelling characters that examine and extend our physical world beyond the limits we practice.
Anne has written under three names: her own, Anne Rampling, and A.N. Roquelaure. Under her own name, she has published historical novels, The Vampire Chronicles series, The Mayfair Witches, and the New Tales of the Vampires series. Under Anne Rampling, she has published two works: Exit to Eden, and Belinda. Under A.N. Roquelaure, Anne published the Beauty Series.
Anne lives and works in Louisiana. Anne's life experiences and intellectual inquisitiveness provide her with constant inspiration for her work. Anne has undertaken a series of business ventures through Kith and Kin.
I've read most all her work under the name Anne Rice, but The Vampire lestat is my favorite. They should have done that book like they did LORD OF THE RINGS... split it up into at least 2 long movies that covered the entire scope of the book.
The should have done without that cheap and cheesy adaptation of QUEEN OF THE DAMNED. I had such high expectations for that movie...
Memnoch the Devil was really cool too. And Pandora.

I hated Memnoch the Devil...my least favourite in the series...
Pandora was ok, but I thought the middle kind of dragged on...she's cool though...
However, I /loved/ The Vampire Armand...Armand's my favourite character, btw...
And I agree with you on the QOTD movie, that was horrible beyond belief...that was really more of an 'end of TVL through beginning of QOTD' plot, in my opinion... Was Mekare even in the movie? I remember Maharet, I think...and Khayman, even though he was the exact opposite of his book counterpart..(come on, Khayman had black hair, black eyes, and was a handsome Eqyptian man...not that creepy pasty ghost-freak like in the movie). And what was up with the Lestat/Jesse relationship? Plus, isn't Jesse 35 in the book? Bah... That movie was such blasphemy... Makes for a great comedy though, for us hardcore Rice fans...har har har...
Anyone else not like Tom Cruise as Lestat in the movie? He didn't ruin the movie, but I just don't think he's good for the part...he would have been an ok Santino, if he ever gets into a movie... I think Jude Law would have been tons better, personally...
